EVENTS PROGRAMME
2025

July 5-6th  Bonchurch “open gardens”, 13.00 to 17.00.  Our research has provided an excellent opportunity to understand more about the cluster of small marine villas in Bonchurch, a holiday and second home destination from the early Victorian period onwards and particularly attractive to writers.  Many of the picturesque of the Neo-Gothic villas are listed buildings and their gardens also pay homage to the Picturesque, utilising the natural beauty of the Undercliff and rock outcrops to good effect. See https://www.bonchurchvillage.co.uk/open-gardens.

Saturday July 5th The AGM is to be held at Stenbury Manor, Whitwell, PO38 2AQ, at 16.30, 15 minutes from Bonchurch.   A chance to see the garden and hear about restoration projects. Refreshments afterwards.
The Manor is approached along a long unmade track to the East of the Whitwell road from Godshill, left about half a mile north of Whitwell.  If travelling from Whitwell the hidden drive is sharp right a few hundred yards after Southford, where there is a left turning signed to Niton.  It would be helpful if you are coming to let Jane Watson know (malcolmandjanewatson@hotmail.com or 07771560550 ) so we have an idea of numbers for catering by June 21st.  Apologies to john@northcourt.info

Friday 18th July  Nunwell Farm – Friday 18 July, 12 30. A lunch event at the Braai, Nunwell, New Farm, West Lane, Brading PO360LG, leading towards the Ashey Road from Brading. The Farm is after the Grade II Nunwell Registered Park where it is hoped to restore elements of the historic parkland in conjunction with regenerative farming.  After lunch there will be an opportunity for a walk through the parkland landscape on public footpaths - stout shoes recommended.  Please book a place for this lunch below: to view menu and prices and for directions to the site go to Getting to Us | Braai IOW .
For details of the Nunwell home Farm Regenerative Farming Project go to About Us | The Modern Home Farm | England.  The food is a unique “farm to fork” menu cooked over an open fire, served with Isle of Wight produce, with beers and wine produced on the estate. See www.braai-iow.co.uk or telephone 07415862786 at the farm if you want to know more.

Click here for the booking form for the above event.
