Caring for the island’s parks, gardens and designed landscapes since 1989
The Isle of Wight Gardens Trust (IWGT) is a small charity run by volunteers, with an interest in the arts and sciences of designed landscapes on the Isle of Wight.
We are one of thirty-six County Garden Trusts with a total of over 7,000 members between us and all part of the Gardens Trust our national body.
We research and record information about the island’s parks, gardens and designed landscapes and use this information to help conserve and protect these for the future.
We provide comment on planning applications and policies that may affect these important sites and keep an extensive archive of information in our inventory.
We also enjoying meeting up and visiting gardens on the island and the mainland many of which are not usually open to the public and have a programme of guided walks and talks so there is something for everyone with an interest in garden history to enjoy as a member.
